kambo is the secretion of the giant green monkey tree frog (phyllomedusa bicolor) & has been utilized for
thousands of years by tribes of the amazon, such as the kaxinawá, katukina, yawanawa, amahuaca, matses, & nukini.
the origin story tells of kampu, a great healer who, in a vision, received this medicine from the forest.
after his passing, kampu’s spirit merged with the frog, leaving kambo as a gift for humanity.
the giant green monkey tree frog is abundant & free from natural predators — a symbol of
resilience, purity, & protection. at casa de luz azul, we honor these traditions & work in partnership with
the international association of kambo practitioners (IAKP) & the matsés tribe to ensure
responsible & sustainable sourcing.
